January 6, 1999, Tommy Ridgley received The Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by "OffBeat Magazine." Also made the cover of January's OffBeat Magazine with a featured article.
This year Tommy Ridgley has been the spokesperson for The National Kidney Foundation. He has completed public service announcements supporting their efforts. He has made guest appearances at events on their behalf. For those who were unaware, Tommy Ridgley was a dialysis patient due to kidney failure in 1995. In May 1998, he received a kidney transplant and is doing fine.
Spring of 1999, Tommy Ridgley's brother, Sammy Ridgley, released his new CD.
August 1, 1999, Tommy Ridgley received The Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by South Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
